Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Friday strongly raised the issue of exam paper leaks during the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ programme in Dehradun, alleging that paper leaks have become the “norm” over the past decade and have affected nearly 7.5 crore students across the country.

Addressing students and youth, Gandhi said paper leaks are not merely examination irregularities but a “theft of young people’s future”, claiming deserving candidates lose opportunities due to corruption in the recruitment system. He also alleged that Uttarakhand has become an “epicentre” of paper leak cases and called for stronger accountability and reforms to restore confidence in competitive examinations.

As part of the programme, Rahul Gandhi also met the family of a student who reportedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak controversy, expressing solidarity and urging authorities to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
