Char Dham Yatra Resumes After Weather Improves

Brocom News Network | Religion Desk

The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand has resumed after a one-day suspension caused by heavy rainfall, landslides, and adverse weather conditions across the Garhwal Himalayan region. The pilgrimage was temporarily halted as a precaution to ensure the safety of thousands of devotees traveling to the four sacred shrines—Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.

Following a detailed review of weather conditions and road safety, the Uttarakhand administration gave the green light to restart the yatra. Officials confirmed that key pilgrimage routes had been cleared and were safe for travel, allowing pilgrims to continue their spiritual journey.

Garhwal Commissioner Anand Swaroop stated that the pilgrimage is now being conducted under strict coordination between district administrations, Uttarakhand Police, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and other emergency agencies. Authorities are maintaining round-the-clock monitoring of landslide-prone areas and weather conditions to ensure the safety of devotees.

Pilgrims have been advised to check official weather updates before traveling, avoid unnecessary movement during heavy rain, and strictly follow instructions issued by local authorities. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that intermittent rainfall may continue in parts of Uttarakhand during the monsoon season.
