Brocom News Network | Uttar Pradesh

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced an ambitious ₹5 lakh crore road infrastructure development plan for Uttar Pradesh, aimed at transforming the state’s transportation network and accelerating economic growth.

Speaking at a public event, Gadkari said the investment will focus on constructing new national highways, expressways, bypasses, ring roads, and bridges, while upgrading existing road corridors to improve connectivity between cities, industrial hubs, and rural areas.

The massive infrastructure push is expected to strengthen links between major economic centres such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Agra, Gorakhpur, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad. Improved road connectivity is also expected to boost logistics, tourism, manufacturing, and agricultural trade across the state.

According to the ministry, better highways will reduce travel time, lower transportation costs, improve road safety, and attract fresh investments into Uttar Pradesh. The projects are also expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities during construction and maintenance.

Several projects are already under construction, while new highway and expressway proposals are expected to be taken up in phases over the coming years.
