Brocom News Network | Greater Noida

In a major step towards sustainable urban living, Arihant Ardent in Greater Noida West has become the first high-rise residential condominium in Gautam Buddh Nagar to power its common facilities using rooftop solar energy under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

The society has installed a 500-kWp rooftop solar power plant that will supply electricity for lifts, corridor lighting, water pumps, club facilities, and other common-area services. The project is expected to generate 6–7.5 lakh units of electricity annually, reducing the society’s common electricity bill by an estimated ₹40–45 lakh every year.

The project, developed with support from Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL), also received Central Financial Assistance under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. Officials said the initiative will reduce carbon emissions and serve as a model for other residential societies looking to adopt clean energy solutions.
